Cure the Three-Putt Blues!

If you three- putt, one or more times per round, it is usually due to the inability to hit the ball the correct distance on your approach putts. Golfers do not realize this, but they miss 4 to 5 times more in distance than they do on direction when they putt.

So a good drill is to get a yellow ball and 4 white ones. Putt the yellow ball first to an area with no hole. Then try to make the other 4 white balls go the same distance. The advance part of this drill is to call out to a partner if the white ball is short, even, or long of the yellow ball. It is great exercise! So when you are over a long putt on the course, pay more attention to the speed than the line.
